Kids. Dogs. Hobbies. The sweetest things in life always seem to come with a little chaos (and that goes triple for my three boys). But here’s the honest truth: I’m passionate about what I do as an interior designer not in spite of these things, but because of them. 

I’ve been a residential designer for five years and counting, as well as a veteran commercial retail designer, carpool line navigator, Target shopper (both for business and pleasure), and labor & delivery nurse (bet you didn’t see that one coming—honestly, I didn’t either). Every role I’ve occupied has come with a unique set of challenges, but home has consistently been my haven through the ebb and flow.   

In 2022, our family made the jump from Ohio to the palmetto trees and warm breezes of South Carolina. As we’ve worked to put down new roots and fill empty walls, I’ve been reminded all over again of the importance of living inside a space that brings rest and refreshment.

Creativity has always floated near the surface of my life, as has the desire to do difference-making work that really matters. With that said, if interior design simply meant filling a room with pretty things, I wouldn’t have come back to it after 10 years in the high-stakes world of healthcare. 

Let’s be clear. I’m not saving lives through interior design. But I deeply believe that I’m still changing them for the better. 

Through Haven + Harbor, my purpose is to give other families everything that home has been for me through life’s many changes: a safe place to land.
